    Hello @eir3apps

Thanks for reaching out. Kindly ensure you have uploaded a social image in the social tab of the Yoast SEO meta box when you edit the page.

    Hello @maybellyne

thanks for the reply. Social images are present in the Yoast SEO meta box, they are automatically retrieved from the featured image. All the proper tags seem to be added, and the image is accessible. But still, sharing on Facebook is a problem. What could be the reason?

    Hi @eir3apps

If you see the correct output by Yoast SEO in the page source, and FaceBook is still not showing the image, does the Facebook debug tool provide any errors about your image? If so, try to fix these errors. Read more about how to use this tool in this article.

If there is no error in the debug tool, you will get more pointers in the Facebook Developer Community Forum

    Hello @611shabnam

thanks for your suggestions. I’ve used the debug tool you mention, and I’ve also checked the Facebook Developer Community Forum. There I have learned that the cause for these types of problems could be related to the robots.txt file (which the Yoast SEO plugin also modifies), or the redirection types (which also Yoast SEO uses). My search for a solution to the problem also brought me to this support forum, and I was happy to find that you provide great help and are even willing to look into specific sites, and I was hoping that maybe you would do the same for me.

The Sharing Debugger tool most often shows an error message of the type “Provided og:image URL %IMG_URL% could not be processed as an image because it has an invalid content type” but the %IMG_URL% is a valid image, with correctly specified width and height parameters. Maybe some redirection is causing the problem?

    Hi @eir3apps

I have checked the robots.txt file and there is no blockage that would stop the images from being shared.

From the homepage, I noticed there is no og:image tag in the page source. So, may be you can share with us the post or page title where the image is not showing up?

    Hello @611shabnam

please note that the robots.txt file was added yesterday, I don’t know how much time is needed for these settings to be propagated to the Facebook tools.

Every post has more-less the same issue, here’s for example, the latest post: https://gjorce.mk/biznis/zhitelite-na-gjorche-petrov-udrija-na-shtedenje-eve-kako-i-vie-da-gi-prepolovite-smetkite-za-struja/

It may be the case that a completely different image is shown, that the one set in the actual post.

Thank you very much for your help and effort!

/biznis/zhitelite-na-gjorche-petrov-udrija-na-shtedenje-eve-kako-i-vie-da-gi-prepolovite-smetkite-za-struja/ has an og:image but Facebook reports: Provided og:image URL, https://gjorce.mk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/struja.jpg could not be processed as an image because it has an invalid content type.

I couldn’t identify what’s wrong with the image but I recommend trying another image.

    Hi @maybellyne

thanks for the reply. I mentioned that error previously. I’ve tried with another image, and I still get the same message. Here’s one more link: https://gjorce.mk/nasi-temi/semejstvoto-kocevski-od-volkovo-moli-za-pomosh/

What is often the case, is that the images are mixed – images from one article end up being displayed on another, when shared on Facebook through Yoast SEO.

I switched to a different plugin (than Yoast SEO) and it seems to work fine, for the moment. The only notable difference that I see is the use of this parameter: meta property="og:image:secure_url"
