    Hey folks,

Hope things are well. I just wanted to reach out about an issue I’m having on Facebook. I’ve looked through the forums and seen there is an issue with the OG tag. However, I’m unsure if my issue is different, and I’ve also seen the bug report has been closed on Git which was being referenced before.

On my WordPress site, I’m setting a default image in the Yoast Social settings for Facebook, as well as setting an Og:image on the homepage SEO settings. I’ve also experimented with setting a Featured Image, however in all cases, Yoast SEO is only showing the site logo as the image tag.

URL for testing would be https://theretro.co.uk

I’ve spent a bit of time debugging, and left the issue after seeing others on here discussing, but still with no avail, I’d love to get an update on whether my issue is separate, and would appreciate any help!

    Thanks,

    Peter

It looks like the issue you are experiencing is a known bug which is planned to be fixed in the Yoast SEO v7.8 where Yoast SEO doesn’t output the og:image meta on the front page. We looked at your site’s front page https://theretro.co.uk/ and we see that Yoast SEO isn’t outputting the og:image meta at all and is related to the existing bug we have.

Closing this thread. Please follow this Github report to know the progress of the issue. As soon as the Yoast SEO 7.8 is released this July, please test and let us know if it does not resolve your issue. You may open a new thread if the issue persists.
