When I try to share the post on Facebook, it is pulling the wrong image. I have the featured image set to the one shown on the page, but i have a different graphic chosen under the Yoast options for Facebook sharing. Whenever I try debugging, the og:image always shows the featured image by wordpress.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • The same thing is happening with our site. When we share our home page url, it shows the featured image from the most recent post instead of what we have set for the home page.

    Hi Lauren,

I’ve checked the URL which you have provided and noticed that there are 2 og:image tags, which might be causing the issue: https://i.imgur.com/Uq05PYY.png

The first tag is not generated by Yoast SEO. Does that tag have the incorrect image (i.e. featured image)?

If so, then the issue is not related to Yoast SEO. Some other plugin or your WordPress theme is adding the first og:image tag. We recommend performing a conflict check, to determine which other plugin (or the theme) is adding that tag.

To find out, after deactivating all plugins as in this guide, re-activate them one at a time, until you find out which one is adding that tag.

?Please let us know if you have any other questions or need any help.

@kathelen if your issue is similar, please share a URL here where you’re experiencing this issue and we’ll be happy to check it out.
