  • What you’ve written is ambiguous.

    – What theme are you using?
    – Is the social media component generated by your theme or a plugin?
    – Can you link to a live example or provide a screen-shot?

i am using maya shop but I used a code I found randomly on the internet.

here is a link example. thanks for helping me.

midway down the page you will see the words with the facebook message appearing off the page

If that does not solve, it please contact the theme developer for help:

Commercial themes are not supported here.

thanks a lot for trying to help. unfortunately, it didn’t solve the problem. the theme provider told me to do a search for deleting facebook text. i have to try that as well.

omg it did help. my theme just takes a day to update. thank you so much!!

Sounds like your site and/or your host are caching files? Or it could simply be your browser cache — always clear it after making any changes to your site.

omg it went back to the old format. how is that possible? i just cleaned my cache. checked my site a couple hours later for something else and it went back to being off the page.

Though clearing your web cache should be sufficient, you should check the website from a fresh browser installation i.e. a secondary browser e.g. Chrome, FF, Opera, Safari etc.

Failing that, as WPyogi pointed out, I’d check with your host and inquire about caching.

What i realize is that I have to have someone like my page and the long message goes away. I liked my page and it went away but then I had to unlike my page because the website isn’t finished and friends started clicking like. does that make sense?

    Yes, that makes sense.

It’s bad practice to develop on a live website.

You need a test environment i.e. a separate WordPress installation either on your local machine or another directory on your hosting account or separate hosting account.

XAAMP is a free means of setting up a test environment. Once you’re happy you’ve ironed out the quirks, put your live website into maintenance mode and transfer your work from the test website to the live website.
