Hi, I’m receiving messages that for this plugin I’m using an old version of the Facebook Graph API (v3.0), that’s deprecated and reaching end of life by the end of the month. So I need to upgrade, and it looks like I can select 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0. Is there a recommended or maximum version to use?

    Hey @josklever,

Thank you for reaching out to us. This message indicates you are using your own Facebook Developer App. This is only required if you are displaying events. Otherwise, you can generate an access token in our plugin settings under Custom Facebook Feed > Configuration > click the Connect a Facebook Account button.

If you would like to continue using your own app, you can either choose to upgrade to any version above 3.0 or you can ignore the message and Facebook will automatically update your app for you.

Let me know if this addresses your?concerns or if you have any additional questions. Hope you are having a great night!

    Thank you for your reply!

Am I correct, that in the past it was necessary to create an app of your own, because the common API was limited to a certain number of requests? I can only think of that why I created one. I was only following your instructions, but that was years ago ??

I’ll review this and maybe switch back to default, because I’m only using it to display my latest posts of my page (no events) on my site.

    Hey @josklever,

There were various changes with the API and using your own app was required for a number of reasons in the past. At this point, it is only needed for displaying events.

Let me know if this addresses your?concerns or if you have any additional questions. Hope you are having a great day!
