    Hello,

I’m planning to show a Facebook feed on a WP site. There are many plugins available for that purpose, but as far as I checked the most prominent ones out, that’s usually realized via some shortcode of the type [custom-facebook-feed] or similar, which is included at a position where it’s intended to appear. So far, so good, so checked out with Smashballoon’s Custom Facebook Feed.

Unfortunately the respective WP-site doesn’t have a “obvious position” for that shortcode. It’s rather graphically/artistic oriented and uses no widgets or other elements which are countinuously visible. The optimal solution would be a kind of little label or flag which hovers at the very same place on the edge of the window spreading out the complete FB feed with mouseover, giving some linktargets to click and pulling back when mouseover ends. Here in the upper left corner there’s a demonstration of the desired functionality. (However, that’s a Joomla based site.)

So my question: Are there applicable plugins available or is CFF capable of this display manner and I just haven’t discovered the setting?

    Thanks in advance
    Philipp

  • Hi Philipp,

I hope that you are not familiar with code.

These would be the option to consider.

    1. Insert code when you edit your theme and style with css.
    2. Use a page builder like site origin or beaver builder. If you want to go totally free, site origin is your best option. They both work with your theme.

    Hopes this helps,

    Regards,

    Michelle

    Hi,

solution for followup researchers: The desired functionality has been realized using

    Aspexi Facebook Like Box Slider

Other useful search terms could be floating sidebar, sidebox, facebook sidebox.

    Cheers
    Philipp
