The upgrade to 3.5.1 had nothing to do with it, nor did the plugin. Facebook controls the contents of the Fan Box, including the colors and everything else.

Use the custom CSS option in the plugin to adjust the fanbox css.

Thanks for you reply. Are there any instructions as to what to write in the CSS box in order to change the color?

The CSS box doesn’t seem to be working anymore. Also it looks like most of the code on the fanbox has changed.

I was thinking the same thing. Have tried to restore the color via the CSS box without success. Facebook probably changed the code, and I don’t know what we can do about it…

If they really changed the code, then there’s probably nothing that can be done.

Facebook actually stopped supporting the Fan Box code a couple years ago, and replaced it with the “Like Box”.

    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box/

I never switched the code in the plugin to this, specifically because the Like Box was much the same design and display, but it did not support adding custom CSS to it. Since the custom CSS option of the Fan Box still worked, I left it be, basically.

But bottom line is that Facebook controls that code completely. The plugin just inserts the proper code into the site to display it and to serve the custom CSS to Facebook on demand, and up until now, they have happily read the CSS and inserted it into the resulting iframe. If they’ve stopped doing this, then there is absolutely nothing I can do about it, and you’re basically screwed. Sorry. ??

That said, if you want to use the new Like box, use the link I gave above to build your like box for your FB page, then copy and paste the resulting code into a Text Widget.

Note that you only need the second part Facebook’s tool gives you. The first part of that, with the Javascript code, is automagically handled for you by SFC by default, with no configuration needed.
