Facebook doesn’t work

    Added FB. When clicked it brings up a blank page. Does not display option to share. I don’t really spend time on a business FB page …just want customers to be able to click on FB icon and share to their own FB page. When I hover over FB icon, it brings up a blank white box..

    Also, Instagram..no option for customer to share to ‘their’ instagram. Only option is to direct them to ‘my’ page…

    instagram and pinterest are NOT listed as ‘share’ options when the ‘share’ button is chosen.

    What’s going on? Am I missing something, or does this plugin not have these functions? Thanks.

    What’s the website url where we can observe those issues?

    Regarding Instagram, they don’t allow sharing, surprisingly. See https://www.thisisinsider.com/how-to-share-repost-instagram-photos-2017-8

    For Pinterest, sharing is called “Pin” or “Save”. This option is offered in the plugin (you can select it under question 2).

    I just tried loading my site on my phone and the FB icon shows the ‘like’ choice.

    I think it has to do with Firefox.

    Yup… Firefox issue… works on mobile and desktop chrome, but not Firefox..
    Any ideas on how to fix that would be appreciated.

    I believe the clue is in the message “https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.5” was blocked because tracking protection is enabled.” Is there an option in Firefox where you can disable this?

    I’m not sure about that as from what I read, it may be a blocking that’s coming from Facebook requirements. Could be the 1st of many changes with FB that stems from the Russia problem… I dunno…

    There may be a way to unblock in Firefox but it may open up all sorts of other vulnerabilities I don’t want to expose myself to. Most customers won’t be savvy enough to change settings for that .. hell, they barely read…and most don’t know how to navigate a shopping product on their small screens… so they won’t know how to fix something like this..not being catty… it’s just a fact.. ??

    Yes, you’re right.

    Our plugin only applies the official Facebook code, so it’s something which Facebook and Firefox have to clarify between each other…

    Another solution which definitely fixes it: as part of this plugin https://www.ultimatelysocial.com/usm-premium/ we can help you to set it up so that sharing is done with one-link solutions, rather than embedded code… then it won’t block. Then you won’t have a Like option (that’s only possible with embedded codes) but sharing which is more important anyway I believe.
