Here’s my widget in the sidebar:

Sign Up with your Facebook account:

Connect your Facebook account to sign up for 'mydomain'

    [AWD_loginbutton]

    Or

Sign up the old fashioned way: <a href="https://mydomain.com/register"> 'Register' </a>

After logging in with Facebook, I would like all the descriptive text to disappear so that it only shows:

    Avatar, Name, Logout

    Is this possible?

PS: Just wanted to say I’ve tried all the FB Connect plug-ins and I find this one the to be the best. You should create a Twitter Connect widget as well! ??

    Suggestions:

-When “connecting” to Facebook, instead of opening in a new window, it would be nice if it were a pop-up instead like most other sites.

    -FB avatar support for commenting

Simply add some options in shortcode:
    [AWD_loginbutton profile_picture="1" faces="0"]

You should enable xfbml loginbutton in general settings, in xfbml loginform will be openned in a pop up.

    FB avatar support for commenting
This part was added in the last release 0.9.7

Simply add some options in shortcode:
    [AWD_loginbutton profile_picture=”1″ faces=”0″]

Even the text about signing up ie. “Sign up with your Facebook account”

Once logged in, I would like that to disappear.

How are you using widgets ? did you add a widget text with shortcode ?

Or did you add the login button via widget from Facebook AWD plugin ?

    Widget text with shortcode.

But the text “Sign up with your Facebook account” is not comming from the plugin…

I know, just wondering if it’s possible.

Another question, I understand that a lot of other FB Connect plugins out there have a problem with new users getting logged in as an admin, namely “Social Connect” and “Facebook Connect” to name a few. Have you ever had a similar problem with your plug-in?

No, The plugin use both PHP sdk and JS sdk to log in…

Note that when facebook will submit a new SDK working with JS SDK 3.0, (5 august) the plugin will be updated to work with Oauth2.

Good news, I accomplished what I was looking for. For anyone else who wants a pretty seamless way of combining normal registration w/ Facebook Connect download the “Logged in User Shortcode” plug-in.
