Facebook comments error: “can’t download”

I have installed Social Gallery Lite, to get facebook comments for my images. I have two problems:

– When I add a comment, I get a message saying “can’t download”. The comment is added anyway, but it’s not very userfriendly.
– I am not notified when I have a new comment and comments are not showing up in the facebook moderation tool

I suspect both problems are related.

I have done this already:

– Installed and activated Social Gallery Lite
– Added my Admin ID to the plugin
– Created an app on facebook and added the APP ID to the plugin
– Made my app public (not sure if this was even needed)

I’m sure I’m missing something very simple, very obvious … but I don’t know what it is.
