    Hi,

We have spent a good amount of hours searching the reason why when you import your products and you click on the “check out on website” button it takes you to the cart page instead of the product details.

Looking at your suggestions and your documentation it mentions that this can be changed when going to the “shop” settings of your page and toggle the option. This is the screenshot that you used to show this although like ourselves a lot of people cannot view the shop tab in their page. How can we change this so that when the user clicks the check out on website it takes them to the product details page of our woocommerce eshop?

Update: we just finished chatting with facebook and their response was that we should contact the developer of the plugin since it is not an issue coming from their end so we hope you can help us resolve this.

anyone who might be able to help? facebook doesnt seem to be of any help and we are stuck.

    Hi @michalm66 and @parale3000,

Thanks for reaching out. Happy to help you with this!

Though the interface has changed a bit, the idea is still the same. Our plugin syncs both the “add to cart” link and the product link, so it’s up to Facebook to decide which one to use. However, you should be able to help guide this decision in the Facebook settings for your page.

When logged in, you should be able to surf to your page to make changes. In the new layout, there should be a left sidebar with a “Settings” link toward the bottom.

Clicking on this should reveal the settings area and switch the sidebar to include a “Shop” option.

Clicking here will show the “Shop” settings, which contains only the toggle for showing cart URLs.

Would you please give that a try and let me know if that works for you?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

Thank you very much for your reply, unfortunately even with the new facebook layout we still can’t see the “shop” item on the sidebar menu (screenshot of the page settings here https://imgur.com/vlShYts).

My guess is (and we have read somewhere) where it mentions that if you set your shop via the business manager then you can only go to a “settings” menu via the business manager.

View also the screenshot from “commerce manager” menu found in the business manager account area. We can’t edit anything there though. https://imgur.com/HjZPAYD

    Same in my case… ;/

I found out, when I add product to FB shop manually, it redirects to product page on my website. problem is only with products which are added automatically to fb shop from woocommerce.

    Hey @michalm66 and @parale3000,

Thank you so much for letting me know. It does look like Facebook has changed the layout and moved some things around. In this case, it sounds like Facebook has removed this entirely.

When the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin syncs with Facebook, it sends along the product URL and the “add to cart” URL. It’s this “add to cart” URL that Facebook then uses to link your products to the cart.

We have a custom code snippet that should do what you’re looking for here – filtering the URLs to both be the product URL – so I’m happy to share it! However, please be aware of a couple notes:

    • I’m afraid that customizations are not covered under our support policy, so implementing this directly or modifying it further isn’t something we can assist with.
    • Please be sure you know how to add custom code to your site. Personally, I like the free Code Snippets plugin method.

You can view the snippet here:

Would you please give this a try and force a resync on the WooCommerce > Settings > Facebook > Product Sync tab? I’m interested to see how this works for you!

    Thanks,
    Marcus

    @marcusskyverge @parale3000

I just tried it and its seems like it works.
i had to resync products manually by clicking “product sync” button.

Thank you very very much. you are my hero ??

Thank you i can also confirm this works!

    Hey @michalm66 and @parale3000,

Excellent, thanks so much for confirming this for me!

I’m going to mark this topic as resolved. If you’re still experiencing issues please take a look at our documentation for more information and create a new thread if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
    Marcus
