Facebook button strife!
-
Hey guys. So I just built a site using the Photocrati theme. I’ve ticked the option in back to have FB and Twitter icons in the sidebar, and directed them to my relevant pages. These display at the top of the homepage – see https://radshot.com
However I don’t want a FB button that just links me out of the site to my fan page. I want to replace this with a box style counter, so people can just click to ‘like’ my blog without leaving the page, and I can see how many fans I have right there.
I’ve already installed Simple Facebook Connect, and used this to display like buttons for all my individual posts. If I switch off my exisitng, in-built social media icons and also enable SFC’s FB ‘like’ widget, it shows up in the sidebar OK, but there are two issues: 1. It’s a slimline button, not box style and 2. It places it below my introductory text (my theme only allows me to put sidebar text above all widgets or below, but handily – when I opt to stick it at the top – still places the in-built FB/Twitter icons above).
I’m guessing I need to ditch the in-built icons and do something from scratch, right? But how to keep the intro text where I want it? Any help much appreciated!
I’m new to Worpress so go easy on me!
