• Hi, I am running my own hosted WordPress site. Whenever I post a blog post link in my status line in Facebook, it has some HTML that comes up in the description. For example, I post a blog post link on my Facebook page. The following description comes out:

“GoodGirls Everywhere” is a group of Catholic young adult women based in Washington, D.C. What kind of events do they have and how do they give back to the community? Find out! <?a href=”https://catholicsindc.com/catholic-womens-club-splash-washington-dc/”>Continue reading <?span class=”meta-nav”>&r…

You can see that the <a href= etc. comes out in the description. Why is that? How can I turn if off? I am currently using the theme Brunelleschi 1.4.2. Thanks

  • My guess is use of common spam terms being blocked my Facebook’s link scanner. Maybe a site name ‘goodgirls’ is giving them issue.

No, that can’t be it because it happens on every post I write, not just this one. Thanks for your input though.

Maybe it is the theme because I used a different theme before and didn’t have this problem? The last theme I used just wouldn’t show a description, so that is why I switched.
