fb:app_id – it needs to be configurable, and the purpose of my plugin is to keep it as simple as possible.

If you want use OG plugin and have those tags, you should use this code:

add_filter( 'og_array', 'add_og_facebook_data' );
function add_og_facebook_data( $og ) {
    $og['fb'] = array(
        'app_id' => 'my-app-id',
        'pages' => 'foo, bar',
    );
    return $og;
}

Yes, it works fine, only issue is the metatag is added after the twitter meta tags. Thats not a big issue i think
