Facebook and Twitter Status updates plugin

    I’m looking for a plugin that will do two things:

    1) Act as a status update on a blog. To appear as text at the side of the posts page.
    2) When status is changed there… and I don’t care how elegant it is, it sends an up date to both Facebook and to Twitter.

    Is there something out there, or would someone like to take a run at creating one?
