Facebook album covers not showing

    Hi I am working on a website for our local boardgaming group, and on the website we have a section for photos (bottom of the page).
    Using the Feed Them Social addon I created a shortcode to show the last six album covers from our group facebook account.
    Everything worked like a charm, but since a few days/weeks the album covers are not showing anymore.

    I tried both on Chrome and Firefox, and in both the covers are not visible.
    I also created a new facebook token and remade the shortcode, but without succes.

    Any ideas?

    Hi @boriskooij,

    It’s possible that another plugin or theme is interfering, however, before we address that, let’s start here:

    1. Please clear the Feed Them Social cache. Feed Them > Settings > Global Options > Clear cache (you may need to clear your browser cache also).

    2. Deactivate your Feed Them Social plugin, then reactivate the plugin. Make sure you are logged into Facebook and have Admin Privileges to the page. Then, go to Feed Them > Facebook Options and go through the steps to retrieve a new Access Token, scroll down and click the green ‘Save All Changes’ button. Then proceed to the settings page to generate a new shortcode.

    3. If the above steps did not fix the issue, then another plugin or theme is interfering. Try deactivating all other plugins besides the Feed Them Social plugins temporarily. Then test to see if it works. If this works, try reactivating your plugins, one by one, to see which one is causing the issue.

    If deactivating all plugins doesn’t help the issue try switching themes to one of the default WordPress themes then look at the page (this can be done under the Appearance tab of your install). It’s possible the theme is causing errors.

    Let me know how it goes.

    Hi @slickchris ,

    1. I cleared the cache, but it did not help
    2. Deactivated and reinstalled the plugin, still did not work
    3. Deactivated all other plugins, still no facebook covers.

    Will try a different theme later tonight/tomorrow, to see if that is the problem.

    I just looks a bit more into the errors i get in chrome, and i get the following error;
    “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 ()”

    when i look further it says;
    www-authenticate: OAuth “Facebook Platform” “invalid_token” “An access token is required to request this resource.”

    I also now added a a shortcode to show album photos, and this is not giving an error. it is just giving errors for the facebook covers

    Sorry for the delay here. I took a second look at your example link at it appears you got things working. Did you still need some assistance?

    Hi Spencer,

    No, the problem is still there. For now i just switched the “facebook album cover shortcode” with the “facebook album photo shortcode”.
    The album photo shortcode is working without any problems, but the album cover shortcode still gives the error from my previous message.

    I only replaced the shortcode on the english part of the website, but on the dutch part the “facebook album cover shortcode” is still present so you can see the problem/errors it is giving.

    Hi Spencer,

    I’m experiencing the same problem as Boris.
    Tried all the above and still nothing works.
    Only random photos work .. not covers.

    Please kindly advise.

    I can see this is not working on our demo now too. Every few years we see this happen and it’s always a glitch with the Facebook API. I’m going to dig deeper and see what the graph API is returning and if it’s working ok I’ll submit a bug report with Facebook to see if they can correct the issue. Keep everyone posted.
