I love yoast plugin, is really useful. But eye icon highlighting function, is not working properly for me. Has an erratic behavior. May be that some times works, if the post is short.
    Any ideas? Thanks

    Hi,

We understand there is an issue with the eye icon not working as expected. We would like some more information.
    1. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO v5.7.1? If not and you updated does the issue resolve? This guides explain more about how to update: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/.

    2. Are you using any kind of pagebuilding plugin such as visual composer?

    3. Can you elaborate more on what happens when you click the eye icon? Does the text fail to get highlighted? Does it highlight the wrong-text?

    4. Can you confirm you are using the highlight tool in the WordPress visual editor tab rather than the text editor?

    Hi,

    Thanks, for responding.
My message, was from before the update to Yoast V 5.7.1. Now, I updated to Yoast V 5.8.

I am not using, “pagebuilding plugin such as visual composer”.
Yes, I’m using “the highlight tool in the WordPress visual editor tab”.

The writing suggestions have been always there. But the text wasn’t highlighted in the visual editor tab, when clicking the icon eye.

With Yoast V 5.7.1, the highlight doesn’t work with this suggestion:

    • 4 de los subtítulos están seguidos por más del máximo recomendado de 300 palabras. Trata de insertar más subtítulos.

    And begin to work with:

    • Tu texto contiene 3 veces en que 3 o más frases consecutivas comienzan con la misma palabra. ?Intenta ser original!

Today, I updated to Yoast V 5.8, with the same result that with Yoast V 5.7.1.

    Thanks for your time

    Hi,

We understand the issue still happens even after updating. We would like some more information.

    1. Are you using any shortcodes on those pages? If so, if you remove them and resave the page are you able to view the highlighted sections?

    2. If you remove any images and do the same, does the issue resolve?

    3. Are any JavaScript errors appearing? If so, can you describe the errors or take a screenshot? If you are not sure how to check for JavaScript errors this guide may help:?https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/
If errors do appear, to then share a screenshot to the forum you can use an image sharing tool like https://pasteboard.co/.

    Hi,

    Thanks for replying
“1. Are you using any shortcodes on those pages? If so, if you remove them and resave the page are you able to view the highlighted sections?”
    Remove theme, but didn’t work.
“2. If you remove any images and do the same, does the issue resolve?”
    Remove theme, but didn’t work.
I do have an error, but is not JavaScript. It′s something related to wp multisite I guess

I find other pages, with this error message, in the chrome console:

    Example:
    goo.gl/fd5z8e
    Error message:
    analytics.js:45 GET https://surdelsur.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/ 403 ()

    Some advice?

This function does not works with a page building plugin like Visual Composer.
