• Hello.

In order to aid testing and future developments, I decided to take a COPY of my WordPress website (currently hosted externally), and host it locally.

After taking all the necessary steps for this to be successful, I confirmed my actions by reviewing the following website:

    https://www.jasonbobich.com/web-design/moving-wordpress-to-a-new-server/

I reviewed all the mentioned steps, and decided that I had done everything correctly.

However…whilst some areas of my website load with no issue, I’m having problems when it comes to speed. Some of my pages just take forever to load, and in some cases, never load at all. I can see all pages and posts within the Dashboard, so I know the connection through to MySQL is fine…or so I believe it to be!

I haven’t made any changes as far as caching or anything is concerned since the copy – it’s literally just the same site, database et all, hosted locally.

Can anyone suggest what I might have neglected to do? Really stumped!

    Many thanks.

**UPDATE** – I’ve just deactivated a number of plug-ins – Gravity Forms, Newsletters, Tweet This, WP touch, WP Remote, and pages are loading instantly! Hmm…odd.
