extremely slow site on windows server

  • jsut set up a new site for a friend on his existing hosting account (he is on a windows server)

    everything loads slow, back and front end and even with no plugins and the default theme.

    currently these are the generation time values: 185 queries. 8.865 seconds.

    I know that is a lot of queries, but a comparable site loads in 0.4 seconds on my linux server.

    what could be the reasons? I could get in touch with his host but I don’t know what to ask. I don’t want to lure him over to another host, as he has severall sites and some of them use ASP not php.

  • This is happening to me too. I can’t seem to find a solution.
    I recently moved to a windows server and now it takes me like 6~10 sec to load the page.

    Any help would be appreciated.
