Extremely slow image processing

We paid for this product but after more than 1 hour only 11 images processed. We use one of the fastest servers for WordPress sites with 10Gbps connections so that cannot be the bottleneck.
The process also stops with error “The Image Url field has to be a URL” when it encounters an image url with special characters like “€”.

Support has responded and they weren’t able to solve the problem. Got a refund and this plugin is now disabled on www.remarpro.com. On their website is mentioned they’ve been acquired by WP Compress wpcompress.com
