Extremely limited support for troubleshooting
-
I migrated to WP.org with a podcast I had been running with no problems for two years and chose SSP as my podcast plug in. Right off the bat there were a series of serious problems with my feed to iTunes. Though certainly this was my fault due to an incorrect set-up when I went to receive help from the forums I heard no word from anybody (I posted multiple single issue posts to make it easier to help with each problem). In the end I was forced to actually email the guys who run SSP. This time I received a response (though no real help to my issues) after clearly stating how frustrated I was with the whole process. They redirected me back to the forums so others could benefit from the solution to my problems. Yet, we still had yet to find any solution though I finally received some help from one of the SSP guys. Yet, every time I posted a follow up it would take up to a week to get a response, the response would usually be another question, which in turn would require me to answer and wait another week. This process went on until my website crashed due to a SSP update issue. At this point I deleted the whole plug in and switched to Blubrry Powerpress. Lo and behold I had a one hour conference call with a Powerpress worker and my podcast is up and running better than ever before. I would not recommend SSP to anybody unless they themselves are an expert with RSS feeds, HTML encoding, website management, podcast troubleshooting etc. If you are a noob like myself go with Powerpress.
