• My wordpress page loads EXTREMELY slowly, also I often get Fatal Errors! Why is this? My old asp page loads in a flash on the same server.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in c:\web\jimmy\suedestation.com\www\wp-includes\template-functions-general.php on line 317

    Please help.

i have the same problem and i am just as puzzled as you are… lets maybe compare what plugins we use that could cause this. i first saw this occuring after i installed spam karma and bunnys techorati plugin. however, if now i deactivate these plugins i does not help to speed up my postings. spam karma added a huge amount of data to my db, i wonder if that has anything to do with it…

Have you tried disabling all active plugins?

i have tried dissabeling the ones after which the problem started to occur, but that did not help

    Three things to try.

    1. Disable all plugins.

    2. Switch to the Classic Theme.

    3. Try repairing your MySQL database. See “repair your tables” at: https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/

These aren’t permanent solutions, but they will help narrow it down to what is causing the problem.

step 1. and 2. did not help, so i am now trying step 3. i will let you know if that helped.

edit: step 3 did not help either… i am guessing it has something to do with my hosts set-up, apache, mysql versions etc. i’ve had quite a few problems to get this whole thing working to begin with.

would you know a tool that lets me analyze the load process? to see what it is doing…

thanx for your help!!!1 i owe you one: https://www.livepiano.de/Ein%20Prosit.jpg

I still need help with this, don’t tell me it’s not compatible with ISS?

This is usually due to plugins.

It can also be due to other really long queries. Try turning OFF your archives list in the sidebar, which goes back to 2000 and has an erroneous ‘0’ year at the end (good indication something’s borked).

Hmm.. I have no plugins installed (unless some are on by default?) and it was slow even before I typed in all those blog-entries.. ??

I tried removing the archieve.. didnt really help much.. argh..

Where are you hosted? The server >could< simply suck. ??

Otherwise, without seeing at least your index.php, and poking around, hard to say what else might be causing slowdowns.

Site was loading graphics REALLY slowly, so I’m thinking it’s the box it’s on, or the pipe, or both.
