Extraneous Character in Event Title

    This is really weird and I’m not sure how long this has been going on but on every event title that appears in the calendar grid, there is an additional character. It looks like a comma, but it is between the first and second character of the title without taking up a space and is somewhat below the “line.” I wish I could provide and image of this (a picture is worth a thousand words…). How can I get rid of the mysterious extraneous character?

    Wow that definitely is really odd. I wonder if it might be coming from something else. Try running through this just so we can be sure:

    Thanks for the procedure to follow. I’ll have to do this late tonight because this is a live site. I’ll post results tomorrow.

    I can’t really do all the things that are discussed in the troubleshooting guide, but I did some of them and it was interesting.

    I ran the Theme Check on my theme, which is Genisis – Education Child – by StudioPress, and there were many issues, all of which I had no idea what to do about them.

    I did a “Live Preview” with the Twenty Fifteen Theme and the problem with the calendar did not exist. So my simplistic assumption is that there is some issue with my theme, but I have no idea how to diagnose and cure that.

    Yeah if that;s the case then it sounds like some sort of encoding issue coming from the theme. Unfortunately I will not know how to fix that so you should try contacting their support.
