Extraction of Google refer’s?

I personally use awstats for my referral and visit tracking. But I do agree that it would be interesting to have a WordPress hack to monitor search engine referrals and keyword usage. I might use the search engine plug-in idea from awstats to come up with a hack. No ETA though. If anyone else has something implimented, sure would like to know!

I would check out https://www.phpee.com . There’s some good code in there, and a lot of mess too, but I use it for most of my sites.

I hacked a new function into the ncYoung refererLib.php that parses Google queries. So, if you’re using that, just copy/paste in a few new functions, and you should be set. I’ve been running it for a couple months over at my blog. It’s really not too tricky – the only weird thing is that sometimes search parameters are URL-encoded, and sometimes quoted-printable encoded.
Unfortunately, my server is down (host is having some issues), but should be up shortly. I do need to do some cleanup to the code around the DB access.
A couple features I’m intending to add:
* Support for parsing other search engines
* Add a control panel into the WP admin section to manage the DB table
I might have a bunch of this done over the weekend, but I’ll at least try and get the current code onto the web tonight if anyone else wants to hack at it.

When I posted on a different subject [namely, presenting Googlers or other Web searchers with a popup telling ’em they’ve hit a Weblog when they hit my site], somone suggested the Google Hilite in the comments.
