    I’ve got this plugin installed on a client site. We seem to be getting heaps of spam Cart items in the Abandoned cart summary. As in dodgy visitor adding in particular item only.

    As in someone OR a bot is adding a Baseball Cap into the Cart 20 times.

    Is there a way to analyse any more details about the Abandoned cart items ? Do you have a paid plugin and what additional information will that give us?

    We are looking for a solution with more details about WHERE the client was when they left the site OR abandoned the cart ?

    Can we extract IP addresses or anything else?

    Hello @kristinubute, the option to extract IP addresses is only available to the pro version. As for the spam cart items, this has already been addressed in this thread. There are also few recommendations that might help with reducing the spam carts which you can find in the thread.

    Thank you for your reply about the bots. I will try that plugin and see if it makes a difference.

    What else is available in the Pro version please? As in the difference between free and paid plugin?

    Client doesn’t want to pay for Pro version

    But they are frustrated with the amount of items in the abandoned cart which seems to be bots.

    ALSO as we have a currently converter in place for when people purchase from other countries, I notice that the Abandoned cart ONLY shows AU$ and NOT the country of origin where the person OR bot resides in .

    Why is that ?

    Also I have tested to leave some items in the cart and not touch it and put to checkout, but it is NOT always added to the Abandoned cart list, WHY would that be ?

    Capture emails when Add to Cart is clicked – HOW does it capture email when no-one has entered in their email?

    Emails can be captured via the add to cart or exit intent popups, user accounts, and via custom fields.

    Capturing IP addresses to limit dumping of spams – How does this work ? Can we block IP addresses?

    We have a feature in the pro version that allows you to enter the IP addresses you want to block, and this will ensure that carts coming from those IP addresses are not logged.

    Also I have tested to leave some items in the cart and not touch it and put to checkout, but it is NOT always added to the Abandoned cart list, WHY would that be ?

    Can you confirm if you have the “Start tracking from Cart Page” option enabled?

    Where is this setting please as I cannot seem to find it?

    Also as we are using the plugin WooCommerce Price Based on Country we notice any items added to the cart are showing AUD$ .. Does it default and CONVERT the pricing from the other country and default to AUD$ in the Abandoned cart?

    Could you confirm please?

    I have installed the Black bot plugin so we will see if it makes a difference.

    Please advise about the contents of info displayed in your plugin … Some of the pricing are NOT showing correctly as per the product real pricing. HOW could that occur ?

    You can find the option by navigating to WooCommerce >> Abandoned Carts >> Settings >> General >> Cart Settings >> Start tracking from Cart Page. Please note that this option is only available in the pro version.

    Regarding the WooCommerce Price Based on Country plugin; our plugin doesn’t convert currencies either on the checkout page or in the reminder emails. What it will instead do is display the exact same currency that the cart was abandoned in the reminder email. So this means that if the cart was abandoned in EUR, the currency in the reminder email will also be in EUR.

    Can you share screenshots or basically any information that will help me understand the issue we’re dealing with here better?

    We don’t have the Pro version therefore I can’t see it. Therefore what is it currently tracking as I cannot use that setting?

    What little software can I use to show you a screenshot?

    You can use Lightshot to take the screenshots.

    The cart items are always in AUD, but I definately don’t think they are from Australia.

    Therefore I think it seems to possibly convert the currency from another country into Australia currency in your plugin…

    Sorry I meant to say the items in the Abandoned Cart items are in Australian dollar always, it never shows the currency of another country in here. But I don’t think they are from Australia really

    @kristinubute may I ask how many currency options are currently active on your site? Another angle is that this could also be coming from bots. If you can remember, that is still also an issue, at least to an extent.

    In that case, the abandoned cart will be correctly captured without any issues.
