Extract does not show up!

    A few days ago we posted on the Newsletter website forum, then sent an email directly, no reply. Maybe here we will have more chance?!

    We are using NEWSLETTER on a few sites and never had problems, even with lists of 20.000+ subscribers.

    Today on a new site began something strange: Impossible to make display the “extract” of the text (the XX words). We put 0, or 30, or 100 etc in the box (number of words), and then nothing. We click on “apply”, etc, change the presentation (one column, 2, etc), change the text color, etc, nothing, never texts shows up. We CAN enter some text manually in the place it should be the extract, but the extract itselfs isn’t displayed.

    This is with template “Last news from your blog” that we always use.
    Version is 7.2.8 on all sites, and on TWO sites it is the same problem. On others, no problem!

    We uninstalled completely, deleted the SQL tables, reinstalled, same problem.
    Only title shows up, with other options (show author, date, image). If I am right there was a “show extract” select-box too, but now it disappeared. The “full article” shows up normally.

    Any suggestion?

    Is this plugin dead? If not maybe the admin could find some minutes to reply to this message and try to fix the problem, before we move to a more reliable program?

    For information, it works fine on one site, and doesn’t on another site. The ONLY difference in config is PHP version:

    7.4.23 – it works
    7.4.25 – it does not work

    Maybe it will help…

    I don’t think the Php version is the problem here. Do you have two different themes on the two websites? Could you tell us the name of the theme on the not-working website?

    Theme is “MH-magazine pro”, a version we purchased 5 years ago, we then made a lot of hacks to adapt to our wishes. By the way I can send you a copy if you want. But all was working fine about a month ago, now it stopped… On some sites. On others that also work wih MH-magazine pro”, no problem, excerpts show up…

    unfortunately we cannot give support to themes related issues, expecially when they have been customized.

    The problem is of course not in the theme but in your plugin! Why a theme would create problems in a plugins that fetches the content from the database?!

    We already understood that you don’t feel concerned by our problem, as at least 3 updates have been published since we wrote about it, and none of them fixed the problem.

    By the way I have an update: We got the SAME problem with a new client that uses a Ten-20 (WP basic) theme.

    We have decided to get rid of your plugin and are using another one that works perfectly, and that even allows insertion of subscribe form in each article, and immediate sendings for new articles. All for free.
