    Hi Michael,

love the plug in, and is MUCH MUCH faster, more efficient than the one it replaced. I had about 20 testimonials to transfer over from an older system, but it was worth it.

I have a minor problem now though. In the slider section [testimonials_slider slide_width=”1″]

It seems to be putting quite a bit of space underneath my CSS block. It seems to happen sometimes when you have a long testimonial vs a small testimonial, but is a bit random.

Thanks! Keep up the good work!

klutzo, Thank you for the compliments.

Did you try the simpler shortcode of [testimonials_slider]? I don’t think you need the slide_width attribute. It’s really only for the carousel feature in premium.

That white space is coming from the slider box wrapper being fixed height. If you notice, there’s a play/pause feature enabled that stays fixed no matter the testimonial length. Have you tried using adaptive_height=false to disable the consistent height?

Next, if you want the consistent height, then you might consider doing your CSS background and border on an outer wrapper like testimonials-widget-testimonials or testimonials-widget-testimonials100000.

Oh yeah, did you see CSS debugging in the FAQ for drilling into CSS?

    Good luck!

    Thanks Michael!

Holy cow you’re fast!!! I just tried out the shorter.. err. shortcode. Seems about the same. I’ll try using adaptive_height=false and see what happens.

Also, yes, I’ve been poking through the FAQ for CSS. That’s how I got this far in the first place. LOL. Now I’m learning all about CSS.. it’s pretty cool!

There’s an example of the type of space I’m chatting about. It seems to happen primarily when a larger ‘testimonial’ precedes a smaller one.

klutzo, the screenshot is giving a 404.

You might consider setting char_limit=250 or so to help create more consistent length testimonials if you’re not able to apply the styling to the outer wrapper and disable the adaptive_height.

Ok, just fixed the link. Check again?

Thanks again for all the wonderful help! Learning CSS is challenging, but fun. =>

Correct, that’s the space I’m talking about. It’s because you have short and long testimonials. Hence my suggestion to work with char_limit, adaptive_height, or applying your styling to testimonials-widget-testimonials or testimonials-widget-testimonials100000 instead.

Hi there, im a beginner css and wordpress user and have similar problems with the space below the testimonial. i am not using play/pause or any of the fields, authour, company email. i am not exactly sure where i should put the shortcode adaptive_height=false which you advised above and do i need to put in between brackets like this
[testimonials_slider adaptive_height=false]? you can take a look at the website here and see the all the white space below whick doesnt look good. https://www.yogawithciara.ie

Also as i have the testimonials in the footer, they appear on all pages but the widget title is not showing on any pages except the homepage
    Thankyou Jackcharlie

JackCharlie, Lets not post in someone else’s thread and start your own topic from now on.

As already suggested: these white spaces are coming because you have short and long testimonials. To fix this, you need to disable the adaptive slider height and set the character limit to something less (say 100) which can give you more consistent length testimonials to display without spaces. Please refer the screenshot below and make these changes in all the widgets “Testimonial Slider” in your footer area. https://awesomescreenshot.com/06650pus2b

Let us know if you need anything else.

sorry i thought thats what i was supposed to do instead of starting a new tread for the same topic. will start a new thread then. thanks
