extra site wide fields

  • Does anybody know if/how it is possible to add extra fields to the site as a whole (I don’t mean the custom fields added on a per post basis).

    What I would like to achieve is to have fields to store a real world address (street, city etc), business hours, in the admin section (general options perhaps). This kind of resembles the data in the user profile (contact information), but with more/different fields.

    I would then like to show this data on every page of the site (in the header/footer).

    Does anybody have any ideas about this?
