  • Hello WordPress team,

I also have the same issue with sleepingshouldbeeasy, can anyone help us or explain why this is happening?

I am just afraid about the impact it may bring to site’s SEO. Cant this affect SEO?

    Thank you in advance….

Those sort of things are normally automated bots looking for vunerbilities by probing for either known bad URL’s, or for random URL’s and 404 pages that might contain some insecure process.

You can block these requests using variou smethods, but overall they aren’t going to do anything bad to your site (or your SEO). Just be sure to do the standard security things like use strong passwords and keep the site updated.

Ok, Thank you catacaustic. I also informed my hosting about this and they said that this is due to server overload. However, personally, I don’t think so because my server monitor shows that my site is way too far from its limit. My site used only 15G out of 2TB, 400MB RAM of 1G.

Can this error occur because of ad codes?

Unless you have ads set up to go to that non-existant URL, then no, ad codes aren’t going to do anything.

ictiempo, who is your hosting provider? Does it happen to be GoDaddy?

Is there a way to stop this? I don’t like that it’s inflating my traffic stats. Does it just go away on its own?

Thank you catacaustic, so it was just a co-incidence, I applied the code yesterday and I began also to see this error after hours of implementing the code.

How about server overload? I just wanna ask your opinion about this server overload thing that will result to 404 error.

Hi sleepingshouldbeeasy, honestly, I was from Godaddy before, I also encountered 404 errors but not this kind that having “post/undefined/static/an/undefined/static/an/undefined/static/an/undefined/static/an/undefined/static/an/usersync.html”. In my case at that time it’s my exact url that exist but renders a 404 error. Since I don’t a metrics to base upon, I can’t tell what really the issue but to some it’s the hosting issue especially when you are in shared hosting. However, we have the same issue here with my hosting a cloud VPS.

I’m not on a shared hosting on GoDaddy.

It happened at 2am today. So frustrating!

WOW! It also happens to my site with almost the same time frame as yours. So, where you from?

    Anyone else have any guesses?

    Basically, instead of:

    https://mywebsite.com/aregularpost

    it shows as

    https://mywebsite.com/aregularpost/undefined/static/an/undefined/static/an/undefined/static/an/undefined/static/an/undefined/static/an/usersync.html

And Google Analytics counts this as a regular traffic hit, even though, if you go to that URL, it shows a 404 (obviously because there is no site that exists).

So my question is, how are these fake URLs showing up as traffic hits when they don’t even exist?

Hi sleepingshouldbeeasy, are you running ads or made any changes? In my case I just implemented the new ad code then after an hours this error appears.

Just asking so that I can narrow down to other things, I am still in the process of investigating this issue.

I don’t want to blame my advertiser but just in case I can remove the code.

I have ads through The Blogger Network but nothing new has changed.

Same think here, any news about the issue?

Thank you for that information. I also urge anyone who experience the same problem that we encounter here to share your thoughts with us. It will be very much appreciated.

Seriously. I’m just glad I’m not alone.

I’ve since changed my passwords to both my blog and Google Analytics and had my hosting provider install malware protection just in case. If I find anything I’ll update this post. I’ve also started a post on Google Analytics help forum.
