• Hi all,

When I unzip 3.2.1 IIS instead of just getting a folder called ”wordpress”, like in the standard versions, I also get three additional files outside of the wordpress folder (install.sql, manifest.xml and parameters.xml). Do I need to do something with these files? Do I upload them just like I upload the contents of the wordpress folder, or are they there for some other purpose? The installation tutorial makes no reference to files outside of the wordpress folder.

Any advice on this, or directions to advice, anybody can give me would be much appreciated.

  • I’m interested in the answer to this as well.
As mentioned above, the files are:

    • install.sql
    • manifest.xml
    • parameters.xml

and they appear alongside the /wordpress/ directory.

I’m installing WordPress on a new server and trying to keep things as clean and straightforward as possible, so if these aren’t necessary I’d like to get rid of them.

Do these files need to be outside the wordpress directory?

If I do a manual install, I generally just upload the CONTENTS of the wordpress directly to the site root, but I’m unclear what needs to happen here.
