Extra field in backend

    Hi,

    I am new to wordpress and am rounding up my first child theme of the twentyeleven theme.

    In the grey paragraph with the class “welcomeline” underneath the home title on the home of the website, I would like to have a field in the backend for the owner of the website to change the content of this paragraph (currently I have put in hardcoded in my child-theme-files). For now sitewide would be good enough, as I imagine this being the easiest.

    Can anyone point me into the right direction? I have little php knowledge, but am able to decipher some.
