External links not getting tracked

    Hi there!

    Love the plugin after testing it for a few days. I’m noticing something curious though, in that external links often seem to be missing from the tracking. There are, for instance, Play Store and Apple Store buttons on the front page that don’t get tracked – test clicks don’t show up in the Track the Click overview, even after a few days.

    The only commonality I can see for the links that don’t seem to get tracked is the target=”_blank” and rel=”noopener” attribute. Could it be that this is stopping them from being tracked? Or is there something else I’m not seeing?

    Hi Olivia. Thanks for using Track The Click, and your feedback on it. I’ve just had a look at your site and from the Network monitor in Chrome, I can see the data being sent back to your site about clicks on those two buttons.

    The link attributes shouldn’t make any difference to the clicks being tracked.
