External link from Facebook logo not working

I have added two Facebook logos to a website and linked them to the organization’s Facebook page. Both links try to re-direct within the site. I have tried using the full link address: https://www.facebook.com/organizationpage and https://www.facebook.com/organizationpage
as well as trying it both with and without http and www: https://facebook.com/organizationpage and https://www.facebook.com/organization page.

I can’t figure out why it keeps trying to re-direct to organizationwebsite.com/https://www.facebook.com/organizationpage

I would appreciate any help/suggestions as the only I have come across is to use the full address, which I have done.
