• I just wanted to let you know I am extremely disappointed that you decided to include the Extendify set of blocks without my permission with EditorsKit. We’re not pawns in your corporate takeover game. If I wanted Extendify blocks, I would have asked for it. I should have been offered the choice.

  • Hi @kc001,

    Thank you for sharing your feedback. While many users find the pattern and template library valuable, I understand that it may not be needed by everyone. In the next release, we will be providing a way for users to remove the library button if it’s not helpful to them. We will follow up here to let you know when that has been updated.

    I also wanted to clarify that the patterns themselves are not being loaded to your site, so it shouldn’t cause any additional bloat. We are hosting them and they are only added to your site if you choose to add a pattern or template from the library.

    However, we want to make sure we are continuing to move EditorsKit forward and are providing value to everyone. If there are other features that you think would be valuable to you, we’d love to hear about them! You can always follow along with the changelog to see what is included in each update.

    Thanks for being a user.

    Thank you for the response. I won’t be “moving forward” with you, and have deleted the plugin after carefully inspecting my site where I had used the plugin.

    Thanks for summarizing my thoughts, kc001.
    I have also replaced this plugin.

    Don’t you just hate it when good plugins turn bad?
    Please don’t add in garbage no one asked for.

    I used this plugin to make Gutenberg more accessible, not for the purpose of adding more shameless blocks. That wasn’t the purpose of this plugin in the beginning, or maybe that was my assumption.

    Hi all,

    I wanted to let you all know that we have added two options for removing the library button from the editor.

    1) First, if you go to the preferences section of the editor (by clicking the three dots in the upper right corner), you will see an option ‘Disable Extendify’ which will remove the library for whichever user selects it.

    2) Alternatively, you can add the following as a mu-plugin and it will remove the library for all users of the site.

    add_filter('extendifysdk_load_library', '__return_false');

    @clubkert even removing the button, the useless code of Extendify will stay.
    What a mess.

    Hi @kalamun – have you used the mu-plugin? That will prevent the loading of the code all together.
