Extend Meta data in wp_postmeta

I’m not sure this is the way, because i want to use the existiting field “Location Name” of an event and store the value in the postmeta-table.

Do you still think, i should use custom Attributes or custom fields for this? What is the way then? how can i store the Location-Name in the postmeta-table for a Event?

at the moment you can try to use wp_query to get the location details eg. _location_id
