• Hi,

I just built a new website for a friend using Microsoft Expression Web-4 but
I must upload it to WordPress as he has hid old site there.

How to do this from within Expression?

I’m not a professional webmaster and do not have experience with WordPress . I am helping my friend with my photography expertise and I’ll appreciate any help regarding this matter.

    Thanks,
    Jose

    Hi Jose!

MS Expression Web-4 is software that produces static HTML pages. WordPress is a Content Management System (CMS), that acts as an interface, storing your content in a database, then displaying it via a theme as dynamic (“put together on demand”) pages. They are not compatible. Sorry.

Were you focusing on a re-design of your friend’s site elements? or a reworking of his content?

    Thanks, Bet.

I created the site from scratch using MS Expression, as she needs drop down menus that I can insert here.

Before starting, I read someplace that it was possible to upload to WP a MS built site,
    but I must have misunderstood?

Can I achieve the same doing it within Word Press? If yes, any suggestions on how to start?. Do I have to purchase new template, program?

    Thanks again!

It does appear that there are some ways to use Expression to create a WP theme (google: “MS Expression create WordPress theme”), but most of them appear to start with an existing WP theme and modify it.
