Express Checkout PayerID is missing

  • I’m trying to set up the Paid Membership Pro plugin and I get a error when ever I try to test out the Membership Checkout.

    It’ll go through the steps in purchasing a membership, after paying on the PayPal site, it brings you back to the Membership Checkout page and says “Almost done. Review the membership information and pricing below then click the “Complete Payment” button to finish your order.”
    But once you click Complete Payment it takes you to another page with the error “Express Checkout PayerID is missing.”

    I have PayPal Express and the Gateway Environment is set to Live/Production. I have my API information. I added the IPN handler URL to my PayPal account.

    I’ve checked with my hosting service and my session variables are supported and enabled.

    Any other ideas on why this might not be working? Thanks in advance.

    I need help with this also – Express Checkout PayerID is missing

    This error is displaying on the final step of the checkout – after the paypal.com redirection.

    Perhaps there’s a way to bypass this final confirmation – seems pretty redundant anyways.

    I have the same issue, unresolved so far by suggestions from PMPro support.

    1. ensure that Session variables are enabled on your host server

    2. exclude checkout pages from any caching plugins

    A few variables seemed to fix this for me (the thread is on the PMPro Members Forum).

    1. I had a plugin conflict with YouTube Simple Gallery. Disabling that seemed to really fix a few issues.
    2. I set the IPN URL in Paypal, (despite the PMP instructions initially recommended not to).
