Hi, we are using product fields on personalised products so that the buyer can enter the name of their dog for their personalised item, but customers who use express checkout to buy via apple pay from the product page are able to pay without completing the name field, or if they do complete the name field then the value is not being saved.

I have spoken to the dev of the product fields plugin and he said the conditional logic is configured right on their plugin as the user cannot proceed to basket or checkout with completing the field.

He also said “the payment plugin does not take into account the fields that are checked, and it should”

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @adejones ,

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that the custom field for entering dog names is not being processed with Apple Pay through Stripe Express Checkout.

I’ve noted your experience and looked into Stripe’s express checkout feature. According to our documentation here, express checkouts like Apple Pay don’t support extra fields, including the custom field you’re using for dog names.

Given this, the best route would be to use a different payment method for personalized products. This way, you can ensure that customers provide their dog’s name before completing their purchase.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Reynier

Thanks for the reply, for now I have disabled express checkout on product pages (keeping it on for cart and checkout) to see if that helps.

    Hi @adejones ,

I’m glad to hear you’ve found a temporary solution by disabling express checkout on the product pages. That could help ensure that your customers don’t miss out on adding their dog’s name for personalized products.

If you need more guidance or have any other concerns, please let me know.
