• Has anyone developed a “drag drop” functionality that is exposed to the user? I would like to expose a series of widgets to registered users that allow them to customize their own WordPress page inside a portal. For example, a customer might drag a widget onto their page and it would prompt them for a Google Analytics id and password. The widget would then display site traffic information on their page inside the customer portal. Anyone see anything like that?

  • It’s not a WordPress core functionality, but specific to a particular theme or plugin. Change to the WordPress default theme so that you can know if it’s caused by your current theme. Deactivate all plugins and activate them one by one while watching if the problem is caused by any plugin(s).

Isn’t the Widget area in the admin panel drag and drop for all WordPress installs regardless of themes? You drag a widget to a sidebar, header or footer and release it, fill in the information and it is part of the page. I am looking to see if that same functionality has been deployed where it is exposed to a customer instead of in the admin.
