EDIT: Appears to Expose Phone Number

  • Phone number appears to users and can be picked up by google so that can get spammed.

    Edit: I have been assured by the developers that although it looks like the number is exposed, it is not picked up by search engines.

    Also there is meant to be a check box that enables to take straight to the app. This didn’t seem to work for me. However, I am now using a different plugin that I am happy with and don’t have the desire to install the plugin again just to test it again.

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused, but WhatsApp account number is mandatory to navigate to your WhatsApp account.

    The WhatsApp account is based on WhatsApp Number.

    Your Website visitor can’t able to Navigate to your WhatsApp chat with out WhatsApp phone number.

    The plugin works based on this link api (required WhatsApp number)

    Hello Everyone,

    please don’t misunderstood the message

    Google wont spam the number,
    Why google will spam the number if added in contact us page or in a contact link to chat with you.

    In contact us page we will add contact number, email. is that mean it will get spam by google. (actually its not)

    We want our website visitors to chat from WhatsApp, that’s why we are adding WhatsApp number.

    Any plugin or without plugin, can’t add WhatsApp chat link with out providing WhatsApp number.

    Click to Chat plugin pass the number to JavaScript syntax. and attach to link when user clicked on icon/button.

    WhatsApp number is added in most of the Click to Chat docs page, but if we do a search in google with that number, our pages will not display in google search result. because google wont read WhatsApp number.
