Exporting text content only from page

  • Hello,

    I’ve been tasked to have our webpage translated from English to Chinese. For that, I’ll need to have all our text content exported to an Excel or Word file as the translation company can’t have access to our WP admin page.

    We already have our webpage in our native language and English. A language string plugin would be appropriate, but our webpage pages were duplicated back then and translated into English, so we need to do the same this time – only I need to export the text contents so I can provide the translation company with it.

    How could I do that in a smart way? I’ve looked into WP All Export, but I get a huge file with all the source code that I don’t need. Can I export text content only? Right now I’m thinking of simply copying all text content and paste it into an Excel doc, but our page is quiet text heavy.

    One simple and fast option for this is to just use the WordPress export tool.

    Go to Tools > Export and from “Choose what to export” export “Posts” and “Pages”. Import those 2 files into another site setup just for this and they can translate that content there.
