Exporting CSV

When I try to export a users report, the “Processing Report” progress stays at initialising. If I leave and come back to the reports page, it shows that I can continue, but the report is empty. This is irregardless of whether there are several entries or only a handful. How can this be troubleshooted?
PS: I just upgraded from V7 to V8, in case that helps.
