    Hi There,

We’re working on a staging ground, and need to bring some customer data over from the production side. I don’t want to overwrite the entire database, so I’m curious if there is a way to export the customer data from the production side, then import it into the staging side?

I was able to export and import woo-commerce orders, but that didn’t work to create new “Customers” and so didn’t assign these orders to the appropriate course.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Matt

  • Hi Matt,

Sensei doesn’t have a tool for bulk importing (or exporting) learners. You could try using a third-party plugin such as WP All Import/Export to move the users but linking them to the course will require some manual work.

Sensei does have a native functionality for exporting and importing courses, but the learners will not be linked to the courses even if you move the learners and courses from the same source (as you’ve found).

One user mentioned to us that he found a workaround for this with WooCommerce Memberships – it allows the import/export of the learner data. In the export CSV, he added a column for the membership ID, and the student was correctly linked to their courses. That said, I have not tested that myself, but it may be one solution worth trying out.

    Thank you!
