Did you expect successfully in the past from the same website or from a different one?
Have you done any changes to the filesystem that could be causing this?
What hosting provider and plan are you using?

yes it has worked repeatedly and successfully from and to multiple locations/ machines/users.
only changes to filesystem was to remove older versions of *.wpress files inside ai1wm-backups/ folder

my hosting plan is unlimited quota on uploads, downloads and storage

It could be that the “unlimited quota” on storage is what is causing the problem.
All hostings that advertise unlimited storage set read and write limits to the storage allowing you to write 1024KB (1MB) per second.
So if your website is say 300MB, it will take 300seconds or 5 minutes to archive the file.
How long have you had the export running for?
There is an error log file in wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/storage/error.log see if it contains any errors.

ive made mutliple attempts at runing export – usually for 2 hours or so each time, the ‘export’ dialog box hangs at “archiving 1%”
    i have checked the error log file and the entries list a missing file…{“Number”:2,”Message”:”fopen(\/home\/fredd685\/cp3402.freddymutnosh.com\/production\/wp-content\/*): failed to open stream: No such file or directory”,”File”:”\/home\/fredd685\/cp3402.freddymutnosh.com\/production\/wp-content\/plugins\/all-in-one-wp-migration\/functions.php”,”Line”:775}

this is obvioualy the issue but what exactly is missing?

in the meantime i have made a complete uninstall/reinstall of the all-in-one plugin on the live site and still the issue remains?

It looks like a storage problem. The one I’ve described above will fit into this cause.
What is your hosting provider and plan?

    hostpapa – AU webhosting business

I just read their definition of “Unlimited”: https://www.hostpapa.com/terms/unlimited/
Try reaching out to them to see if they can increase the resources for your account then run the export again.

My hosting provider has offered to change any settings as you suggest would help fix the problem . Could you possibly have a look at the url below and advise me what requires amendment?

Reach over to support at servmask.com – it will be faster to communicate there

I was having similar problems. I have multiple testing sites in use on my local machine. Each one is a migrated version of the next. All of a sudden, I started running into export stalls (stalling a 0%, at 95% or even at 100%) when using All-in-One Migration on each of these sites except the original. Some had previous successful exports and some did not. I was always exporting to File.

On opening and comparing the wp-content folders for each site, I noticed that in every site that was giving me problems, there were strange folders present in the wp-content folder (ns/meta; w3.org; different for every site and some much more than others). I deleted these folders in each of the problem sites, tried to export again and it worked just fine every time.

I’ve no idea what caused the problem. But this fixed it.

I too have had this problem, turns out disabling WP-Smush plugin solved the problem. Hope this helps anyone else who has same issues, it’s mighty frustrating!!

@altnet Deactivating WP-Smush saved me a lot of troubleshooting effort. Thank you for that note!
