    Hi,

Im building a new website for a customer who uses Rich Reviews on their current site.

They have 86 reviews, rather than me having to type them all out individually which would be an absolute nightmare, is it possible somehow to export the reviews?

    Praying there is…. ??

Unfortunately there’s no “normal” way of doing this. We didn’t build the plugin, so this is just how we inherited it. We wish there were.

There should be a way to export the data from the database, as CSV or something similar. But that’s something you’d have to ask your host about or a database expert. We can’t really give support there. Sorry.

Our current plan is to rebuild the features of Rich Reviews into Starfish Reviews (our other plugin) and do it the right way. At that time, we’ll offer a migration process from RR into Starfish Reviews. We may also add an exporter for RR, while we’re at it, or at some point will add an exporter from Starfish Reviews so you can get your reviews out from there.

There is an alternate method to do this, that one of our other users tried and report that it works.

You can export the wp_richreviews table from the database (via phpMyAdmin or Adminer or whatever). Then import it on the new site. This isn’t something we support, so I make no promises, but it should work.

Also, reviews are tagged with the ID of the post/page where they were submitted. Those won’t align if you try this method and it works. So if you want to display reviews based on where they were submitted, it won’t work, unless you run some SQL queries or something to find the ID’s from the old site and change them to the ID’s on your new site.
