    Hi,

I have export problem with visual form builder free :
I created a first form, and i was able to export all fields.
Then i created a second form. When i go to export panel, both forms are displayed in the selected field. When i try to export the first form, no problem (the first form is in fact the default form selected). But if i try to select the second form, then the corresponding fields are not correctly loaded. And i cannot export them. I can only export default fields (ID, Date, IP, …).
Has anyone the same problem? Thank you in advance.

  • Hello and Good morning,

We are sorry you are having a problem with exporting. There are a few things I can suggest with this.

    1. There could be a possible conflict with another plugin or theme causing the export issue. Caching plugins tend to cause issues.

    2. You may be running a low php version on your server, make sure you are running 5.4 or better.

    3. Your database could be corrupted or broken.

    4. You could try deleting and re-installing our free version in case something went wrong on your first install.

Hope this helps, have a nice weekend.

Hi, and thx for the quick answer,

    According to your tips :
    – i work on a server running php v5.6,
    – i try to deactivate all other plugins in my wp install,
    – i try to install only vfb plugin on another server,
Any solution has solved the problem…

    Regards, link

    I keep trying to find a solution…
I test the admin-ajax.php script directly in my browser :
    https://mysite/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=visual_form_builder_export_load_options&id=1
    And it works !
I don’t understand why the fields are not correctly loaded in the export page…

Did you try deactivating your theme? This seems like a conflict to me. We have seen this VERY occasionally, but very very rare. maybe 1 or 2 instances a year.

Exact same symptoms (and versions) here, and happening on multiple sites. We use the U-Design premium theme on both sites, but even after switching to the Twenty Fifteen default theme on one of them it still has this problem.

Checking with the Firefox Inspector tool, it looks like when the page initially loads, it populates all of the fields properly (rendered directly into the HTML), not through AJAX), but the AJAX request is only returning the HTML for the default fields.

I checked with another user of our sites who uses this more frequently, and she indicated that it worked fine before a couple of weeks ago.

It feels like a bug in the latest version(s) — any suggestion for where to file a bug report?

    Hi,

Glad to see that I am the only with this problem…
I try to deactivate my theme, i test with :
    – Twenty sixteen…
    – Twenty fifteen…
    … still the problem.

    Hello,

I am sorry you are having persistent problems with the export on our free version. There are so many things that could cause this, I’ll try to give you more ideas here:

    1. your php settings are causing a timeout, which is making the export be only partial
    2. Your database is corrupted
    3. The form is broken or malformed corrupted because of database problems
    4. You might remake the form and see if the problem persists

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,

And thx for your support time.

I agree with liquidsunshine : it’s a bug in the latest version : I try to install 2.8.6 version, and the problem is fixed.

And as i tell you before, i don’t think that’s a database or broken form problem because the fields are correctly displayed if you get directly the ajax url (https://mysite/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=visual_form_builder_export_load_options&id=1).

I think rather of a javascript lib problem (jquery version ?)…

Thank you both for your feedback on this, I’ll certainly pass this over to our developer for consideration to make sure something did not happen in the most recent update, and if it did that we get is corrected.

I’d like to note that I’m having the same issue. It did seem to start after the update last week. It seems to be a bug with the plugin.

I hate to engage in “me too” forum activity, but this occured to me as well. I have two forms on my website. I’m able to export all the entries for the first one, but for the second one, I can only export just the basics (like Entries ID, Date Submittted, IP Address, etc.), and it leaves out many of the other fields.

I’m also using the latest 2.8.7 version of the plugin. Do you know when there might be a fix for this? Thanks.

Which table is the data for custom fields stored in?

    Hello All,

I have let our developer know about this issue with exporting that a few of you are having. I’ll let you know when we hear back from Matthew on it! In the mean time you may consider taking a look at our pro version at https://www.vfbpro.com.

    Thank you,

I have this problem with several sites (started late last week) – whilst I would love to see it resolved I am open to the idea of upgrading to VFBpro BUT if I do so, will the upgrade enable me to export the data from my existing forms?

For busy users, downgrade to version 2.8.6 solve the problem…
