Export party from one Multisite to a new Multisite

  • Hi,

    when I do an export of posts (of a site within my origin multisite) filtering down to a specific category and do an import of the XML to a new site at a different WP Multisite and check that the media should be downloaded to the new site, this is somehow not going to happen. Also if I do this for pages, media is not downloaded. All media is still having the link back to the old WP Multisite site.

    Exporting all stuff and importing this is working fine, but then I do have more work to delete the unwanted stuff than the other way around!

    Any hints?

    Check the server and make sure the media didn’t get uploaded on the new server. If it did, you can just edit the post content.

    Otherwise…

    Manually FTP the images over and then replace :/
