Hi, this is a great plugin!

I’ve tested the new Import / Export feature and found it working with new, but not with existing pages (my first try).
Plugin seems to recognize that page exists and decides to change … nothing.
Maybe – if that is intended – you could add an option to overwrite existing pages / posts?

My case: Transferring an existing page to an existing staging-site => reworking it => and (when ready) Export / Import it back to Live-site. (= 2 times updating an existing page)

+ if possible, transferring Meta-data (Page-parents, menu-entry, …) too, would be great in all cases ??

    Hi,

    Thanks for your feedback!
Yes, that’s the design. Currently the plugin doesn’t overwrite existing pages/posts. The option is already in our plan and will be added gradually together with some other new options, which includes transferring page-parents, menu-entry as well as more post types.
We are collecting feedback. How do you like the Export/Import feature?

    OK, my opinion so far:

    a) Transferring included images works perfect and with all metadata. Good!

    b) Transferring manually set links within the page content from one Domain to another (= replacing domain while importing page) works also without any problem. Good!

    c) And with the mentioned 1:1 replacement option (including menu and parents) it will be a great productivity enhancement for testing and reworking single pages without the need to clone the whole site!

Thank You for developing such a great tool!

By the way, a little additional hint: The date filter for pages does not work as described for “last modified”. It found all new created pages, but updated pages are not in the list (where last modified date is not shown anyway).

The “Last modified date” refers to the date you have last modified an unpublished post or page, since WordPress does not show the updated date for a published post or page.

I think it’s the current description that causes the confusion, thanks for pointing this out! We will update the description in the next release.

    Thanks!
