    Hi,
I’m having trouble with the export and import of a .csv-file.

I have an old site, running with the gwolle-guestbook and wanted to export the entries in a CSV-file – works.
Then I wanted to import the CSV-file into the gwolle-guestbook-Plugin on my new site. But it doesn’t work, I’ve got an error Message, that says, that the CSV has an invalid file format Mime-type: text/html

So, what’s happened? How can I fix this problem?

And one big question/suggest: Will it be possible in a future version to don’t save the IP-Addresses of the entries (I’m concerned about the EU-Regulation)

    Thanks for your help!

About the IP address, I think I want to add an option for it. There will also be some work on GDPR compliance, but I will wait for WordPress Core recommendations. There is now a lot of talk about that here:

About the import, you are sure the file is a valid CSV file? I have never seen that error.
What you can do is open admin/gb-page-import.php and add the mimetype to the list around line 495. Can you manage that? And does it work for you?

Hi, in the next version there is added an option to store or not store IP Address and hostname. It will be in 2.3.11.

    Hi Marcel,
    sorry for answering late.

I think I found the failure myself: On the old site were some guestbook-entrys that were’nt changed into spam or approved or so. I deleted this entrys and tried again and then it works without any problems, so I think, that’s what it was.

Maybe this answer is helping someone other, who has a similar problem. ??

Strange. I never seen that mime-type error. It should not happen.
Anyway, good that it works now.

I had the same effect. Thanks @babypuk for writing the solution, it helped me a lot.

    Strange.
When you have new and unchecked entries, the import goes wrong?

Right! I had two spam entries, marked as spam in old site and it didn’t work. After delete of those entries it worked.
