    Hi –

I’m trying to move a NextGen gallery from one site to another.

I exported the xml file for both “NextGEN Gallery – Album” and “NextGEN Gallery – Gallery” from the old site.

When I import them into the new site, neither appear as Galleries or Albums. Importer says they are there but I can’t find them.

These are not my sites. I am not a user of NextGen so not sure how the plugin works.

    Please advise, thanks.

@marikane – The WordPress XML export/import file does not take into account the database tables that NextGEN Gallery uses. I would recommend a migration service that can move the entire site as is versus a piecemeal approach although it is possible.

    Thanks!

@marikane – Here is a very basic outline to consider for migrations:

    • On origin site:
    • create a full verified backup of the site (all files and the entire database)
    • clear transients
    • copy all database tables
    • copy gallery folders and contents
    • On destination site (WordPress default installation):
    • ensure NextGEN Gallery plugin(s) are installed (and activated)
    • paste gallery folders and contents
    • paste (overwrite) all database tables
    • clear transients
    • optional, use Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options

    Thanks!

I found this guide to be real useful as well…

Is there a way to do this if you don’t have access to your cpanel because you are using a hosting company that does not provide it.

I don’t understand how to transfer NextGEN galleries from one site to another. Does anyone have a simple explanation OR a recommendation for another way to store and organize photos that does transfer easily across different WordPress sites?

You can use this new free plugin to automatically export/transfer all your photos from NextGen Envira or FoolGallery plugins to your computer. It creates a zip file with matching folders for each gallery, which you can then use to import into your new WordPress website.

I too am having a problem migrating to a new site. The images are there in the correct directory. I have tried deleting the NextGen plugin, dropping the wp_ngg_album, wp_ngg_gallery and wp_ngg_pictures tables from the database, and then reinstalling the plugin to start afresh. Now when I create a basic slideshow, the images all display in a continuous column – https://tenfoottwo.co.uk/?p=102

    Hi,

I have a website with 3 languages and I need to copy the content written in this website to another website that has different url (also is built in the same 3 languages).
Apart from that, if I write a post in one website in english language, it should be copied into the other website in the same language and in an automatically way.
Is there a plugin that perform that?

The original website is https://cym.com.ar/ and the other one which should receive the same content in the same language is https://www.metalcym.com.br/

    Is it understood?
    Thanks in advance.

    Bonjour,
    Cordialement
